Review:

I’m giving A Grimm Warning by Chris Colfer 5/5 stars.
Chris Colfer did it again in the third installment of the Land of Stories series! I loved the first two books in the stories, but A Grimm Warning kicked the series up to a new level for me. Maybe it was because I had a special connection to it with part of the story taking place in Germany and I was in Germany earlier this year and visited Neuschwanstein Castle which actually plays a role in the story. Reading the parts in Germany where very believable to me, which made the story great, because if these parts didn’t really seem like Germany, it would of really hurt the story telling to me.
Another new thing with A Grimm Warning than the other two books in the Land of Stories series is that the themes are getting a bit more mature, just as Conner and Alex get older as well. We see that Alex and Conner are learning how to deal with matters of the heart, and death while they once again try to save the fairy tale world from the forces of evil. Seeing our heroes dealing with real issues that 14 year olds would deal with was a breath of fresh air instead of having them constantly focusing on saving the world or how to get back to the fairy tale world.
In terms of the story, it was my favorite book in the series so far. The whole book is action pack an truly keeps you hanging on to find out what happens next. I actually read this book in a day, because I had trouble putting it down. I mean you have so much going on with stuff dealing with the past that is going to affect the present, and also present matters that will play a part in the future. Speaking of the past the end of the book will have you saying “Holy Sh*T” “OMG” “#PLOTTWIST”, because wow…I just did not see the ending of this book coming. Total shocker that will make you pick up the fourth book in the Land of Stories series right away, so you can find out where that ending was going.
